Pure Cafe sits quietly on Post Office Road in Porters Lake, serving as a comfortable retreat for anyone looking to enjoy good coffee and simple, thoughtfully prepared food. The cafe’s location near the water lends it a laid-back, coastal vibe that feels just right for slowing down—whether you're dropping in for a morning pick-me-up or settling in with a laptop for a late-morning work session.

The atmosphere is unpretentious and welcoming, with friendly staff creating a casual environment where locals and visitors alike can feel at home. The space offers plenty of seating and some lovely views, making it a popular spot to linger over a coffee or connect with friends. It's particularly inviting on sunny days when you can soak up natural light and watch the world go by.

On the menu, the cafe leans toward fresh, reasonably priced options that complement its coffee offerings. Paninis and wraps like the Amped BLT with Pico De Gallo or a vegetarian panini provide hearty yet approachable lunchtime choices. There’s also a good range of baked goods—everything from Nanaimo bars to lemon-blueberry scones—that pairs well with their well-regarded coffee. Those looking for lighter bites can find soups and salads, like the classic tomato soup served with a Parmesan crisp, reflecting a balance between comfort food and health-conscious fare.

Pure Cafe attracts a diverse crowd—from cyclists passing through the area who appreciate a solid refueling spot, to parents settling in for a relaxed afternoon. While the café welcomes families, some practical considerations like the high changing table in the restroom suggest it could improve in accommodating small children.

Overall, this is a spot that suits people who appreciate a quiet, inviting setting with strong coffee, uncomplicated food, and attentive service that doesn’t feel rushed. Early mornings and late mornings through midday tend to be ideal times to visit, whether you’re here for a brief stop or a longer break in a peaceful, community-focused environment.

It's a 5 star café with great food. I just want to suggest something for the owners: the changing table in the bathroom is extremely high, I'm 1.63 cm and it was hard to change my baby while having my arms up that high. It's also on top of the toilet, so if I was there by myself and wanted to put my baby on it so I could use the toilet, I wouldn't be able to . My baby doesn't sit my himself yet and I didn't have my stroller.

Love this little spot on the shore. The food and coffee are great, and the people and are very friendly and accommodating whether you're sitting down with a laptop for a couple of hours, or sitting down with friends.

This place is so dang cute. Everyone feels welcoming and welcomed. They made me a vegan panini that was delicious. Lots of seating, beautiful views, kind staff, good food :) wish I had a place just like this back home.

Amazing cafe I discovered on my bike ride today. Hidden gem on Porters Lake. Managed by owner Char and very friendly staff Nina. The coffee was too good and lots of healthy food options. It's worth driving all the way from Halifax for an amazing break. Highly recommended

An absolutely stunning location with warm, welcoming staff who go above and beyond to create an engaging experience. The décor is tasteful and inviting, and the atmosphere strikes the perfect balance of comfort and charm. The food was exceptional, and every bite was full of flavor, and the coffee was among the best you’ll find. This place is a true hidden gem.

This spot is well worth a visit if you're in the area. The café is bright and spacious and has a view of the lake. The decor is eclectic, ranging from rustic to modern, with a collection of crafts and souvenirs. We really enjoyed our brunch wrap; one was enough to feed both of us. The staff treated us really well.

I was invited with a few people and my young daughter for a late lunch after hearing about its recent opening. I ordered a few things from the menu to share of what was left after their lunch rush - I was sad to have missed the special! I didn’t know it was not made to order. Parking was easy, and they are accessible. The food tasted as great as it looked, especially the baked goods. I also got a London fog (w. a dairy free alternative and I believe also SF), very tasteful. It could’ve been hotter to enjoy longer but it was good nonetheless. Loved the environment and all the creative pieces surrounding the cafe — seemed to be a lot of local artists on the walls and shelves! The only things I noticed was the bathroom door was slightly confusing for myself, maybe it’s just me, small children may not know how to use it. Some of the bathroom necessities would also be out of reach for anyone small. They do have a kid-friendly corner with high chairs. Maybe a little wooden stool would be a great addition to the bathroom. There was whipped butter at the table but no crackers or buns with the soup ordered. Understandable now that maybe the butter is for baked goods (if asked for heated), a wrap or sandwich - they’re all premade and some are heated before being ready. However, upon asking about crackers or buns with the soup, they offered me some warm focaccia to enjoy with my soup and that was top tier. :) I asked about coffee refills, they’re not free, but I would just say that it’s an opportunity to try something new.
